Bierwagen's Donner Trail Fruit and Pumpkin Patch in Chicago Park has been farmed by the Bierwagen family since 1902 and opens its pumpkin patch and harvest activities throughout October. Visitors pick pumpkins, pick apples in the orchard, enjoy fresh-pressed apple cider, homemade apple fritters, jams, honey, and visit farm animals. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission and parking; exact 2026 dates were not yet posted, so the standard full-October run is estimated.
