The Fruit Company, the gift-fruit arm of four-generation Webster Orchards, has been growing, hand-picking, and hand-packing Hood River Valley pears, apples, and cherries for more than 80 years. A Hood River Fruit Loop member at 2850 Van Horn Drive, it welcomes visitors April through October with a gift shop, an orchard museum in its historic packing house, tractor-pulled tram rides through a working orchard, and behind-the-scenes factory tours. There is no u-pick, but tram riders can taste seasonal fruit and see how the gift baskets are assembled.
