The Gather Grove vision

Today: the directory

Right now, Gather Grove is a working guide to 539 U-pick farms across California, Oregon & Washington— where to go, what's ripe, and when. That's the whole product, and we intend to keep making it the most current, trustworthy version of itself. Nothing about what follows changes that.

Underneath it: the values

"Everything the earth grows" has always been our line, and we mean it precisely: plants, fruits, fungi — what the land yields. That framing comes from somewhere. Gather Grove is built by a vegan founder, and the ethic runs quietly through everything here: what we choose to list, what we recommend you try, the harm we'd rather reduce than ignore. Picking a strawberry from the plant it grew on is about as honest a relationship with food as there is — you see exactly where it came from, and nothing had to be harmed for it. We think that honesty is a big part of why a day at a u-pick farm feels the way it does.

That's also why the directory now has a section for vegan farms and communities — growers whose whole operation is plant-based, and people building lives around the same idea.

Someday: a place

The long thought — and we hold it lightly — is that a brand called Gather Grove shouldn't stay a website forever. Somewhere down the road, we'd love for these values to have an address: land, orchards tended veganically, a real community built around growing things and gathering people. We are exploring, not launching. There's no land, no timeline, no prospectus — just a direction we're walking in and a willingness to say so out loud.

If that idea speaks to you, the most useful thing you can do today is simple: leave your email. This list is only for community and vision updates — it's separate from our monthly harvest newsletter, and we'll write only when there's something real to say.
