The Melcher family has grown hazelnuts in St. Paul since 1957, and their on-farm store — named for founders Ken and June — sells the harvest in every form: raw, dry roasted, roasted and salted, hazelnut butter, and chocolate- and marionberry-candy-coated hazelnuts, plus fruit jams. The store also serves espresso drinks and pastries, and fresh peaches appear in late July through August. Open Monday through Saturday, 9am to 3pm; no u-pick, but the farm store is fully visitor-oriented and tied to the farm's own 500 acres of hazelnut orchards.
