Root Orchards is a fifth-generation family farm in the Mosier Valley of the Columbia River Gorge, where the Root family has grown cherries since 1878. The farm offers u-pick sweet cherries across more than 14 varieties — from early-season Black Pearl and Chelan through Bing and Rainier to late-season Lapin, Skeena, and Sweetheart — at $2.50 per pound. The 2026 u-pick season is open daily 9am-6pm, typically running mid-June through late July, with small, easy-reach trees and parking near the picking rows. The farm is an Oregon Century Farm and a stop on the East Gorge Food Trail.
Seasons and hours change with the weather and the crop — always check the farm's site before you go.
