The Walchli family, the largest melon growers in the Pacific Northwest, runs this seasonal fruit stand at the Pilot Travel Center on Highway 395 just outside Stanfield. The stand sells the family's famous Hermiston watermelons — including seedless, orange, yellow, and the trademarked Black Mamba red seedless — along with cantaloupe and other fresh produce from their fields. It operates seven days a week from roughly late June through September, timed to the Hermiston melon harvest.
